FAQS

What is Thai massage?

Traditional Thai massage (“Nuad Thai”) is an unique, dynamic, full-healing treatment that is both relaxing and invigorating. With its Ayurveda roots from India combined with ancient Chinese acupressure, this therapy dates back over 2,500 years as a medical practice enjoyed by the Royal Family in Thailand.

In 2019, Traditional Thai massage was added to the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

What makes Thai massage unique from other types of massages? What are its advantages?

Unlike conventional western oil massage styles that require clients to undress, traditional Thai massage involves movement, stretching and direct pressure over fully clothed clients. Recipients will assume a series of different positions throughout a traditional Thai massage session. Therapists use not only hands but also forearms, elbows, knees, and even feet to apply pressure.

What was the intention behind opening this store?

After several visits to Thailand, our founders fell in love with this wonderful healing modality and decided to bring it back to Canada. We have been inspired to share its benefits with all Canadians.

Who is our Talent?

In order to provide the most authentic traditional Thai massage experience, we have gathered the most talented therapists. Our massage therapists were either Thailand-based professional veterans, or actually went to Thailand for training under the most respected masters. Our therapists work under Canadian laws and regulations to ensure a safe and effective treatment for all clients.

We invite you to take part in a world-class healing experience in a clean, quiet, professional and therapeutic atmosphere that relieves stress and boosts energy. Come to Ylang-Ylang Wellness, and experience the difference yourself.
